Tuesday March 8th saw another fine meeting with a mixture of new and old (if the more experienced Toastmasters will forgive the epithet!).
Toastmaster for the evening Ted Mellamphy introduced three speakers:
Mark Gallagher gave an excellent Icebreaker on "My New BFF" - a salutary tale of stuttering, evaluated by Andrea Jahn. Mark was awarded best speaker of the night;
Louise Murphy gave her second speech (CC2) entitled "I Haven't Been Everywhere" - evaluated by Victor Sullivan; and
Maria Gillen spoke about "Drama as Therapy" from the Public Relations manual number 2, The Radio Talk Show - evaluaed by Moira O'Brien who was awarded best evaluator.
Table Topics on the night were handed out by Neil O'Brien in his first time in the role. The topics were varied and some challenging. Ted Mellamphy was awarded the best response.
General Evaluator Eddie O'Mahony conducted the rest of the meeting, assisted by Timekeeper Kate Buttimer, Ah Counter Anita Murphy and Grammarian Mary Walsh.
President Mike McGrath closed the meeting presenting Coordinator certificates to Sharon O'Neill and Maria Gillen for their work in presenting a Speechcraft series to members of the charity Dress for Success.
