Another very successful meeting with good attendance and two visiting Toastmasters, Steven Day and Lukasz Madrzak.
Toastmaster and President Mike McGrath introduced four speakers. Our first speaker was Neil O'Brien who gave a very polished CC3 speech entitled "What's Your Purpose". He was evaluated by Kathleen O'Mahony who picked up the best evaluator award.
The second speaker was Steven Day who entertained us by asking us to guess which of three "Make them Laugh" stories was true, from the Entertaining Speaker series, no 3. He was evaluated by Ted Mellamphy.
Third came Moira O'Brien, from the Interpretive Reading manual no 4, a short playlet entitled "A Talk in the Park" where she represented five different characters with some success. She was evaluated by Maria Gillen.
Lastly, Sharon O'Neil appealed to our emotions with a very touching story from the Storytelling manual no 4 entitled "Welcome to our Family", winning the best speaker award. She was evaluated by Jerome O'Donovan.
Kate Buttimer then gave us a thought full Table Topic session with the best response being given to Anita Murphy, followed by our General Evaluator Andrea Jahn. Other roles were taken by Jerome O'Donovan double jobbing as Sergeant at Arms, Mary Walsh as Timekeeper (she gave us a lovely quote in her introduction), Daniel Forde as Ah-Counter and Mark Gallagher as Grammarian.
