The last meeting of 2015!
Ronan gave a very accomplished Stage 3 from the CC about the phenomenon of the modern shopper and Sharon stepped in at the last minute to deliver a speech from the Storytelling Manual with the theme of "Let's Get Personal". Sharon also gave a short presentation on a ground-breaking initiative for Blarney Toastmasters, an Induction Workshop for new members to help them hit the ground running and give them a chance to meet with their mentors. The workshop is scheduled for 5th January 2016 and will be open to all members, though focused on covering the basics for the new members.
Celine delivered a light Table Topics session with a seasonal theme which got everyone involved, the most popular topic being the Late Late Toy Show - lots of different opinions and memories shared! This was followed by a lively network break where everyone enjoyed the delicious mince pies provided by the Blarney Woollen Mills hotel.
Our General Evaluator, Kathleen, delivered a very competent, confident and comprehensive evaluation session - as always, lots of learning for everyone in the room.
Our President, Mike, closed the meeting thanking everyone for an excellent first six months and looking forward to the next season for the club. He reminded everyone of our Christmas night out in the Claddagh Restaurant on 18th December (contact Sharon for details) and ended by wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas.
We look forward to returning in the New Year, starting with our Induction Workshop and then supporting our new members as they start their Toastmasters journey in earnest - some of them have already booked roles and Ice-Breakers for our January meetings. It looks like the second half of our year will be as exciting and successful as the first!
