About Our Club

Welcome to Reading Speakers Club - A Word From Our President

Dear members and guests, WELCOME !.

I have the great honour of taking the role of President for Reading Speakers Club for the year 2019/20.

I joined Reading Speakers in 2016 and have benefitted enormously from being a member of this friendly and supportive Club. I have developed my presentation and leadership skills, met many interesting people, gained new friendships and have had great fun.

If you are uncomfortable about speaking in public, want to build your leadership capabilities or enhance your current skills further, Reading Speakers gives you the opportunity to do this. Speeches are evaluated by friendly club members and there are also many varied roles that you can take to practice public speaking and fine tune your leadership skills. The key to success is observation, listening, practice and feedback.  You will continue to be given encouragement and support throughout your Toastmasters journey.

Please come to one of our meetings as a guest, meet new people and have some fun.  We will be delighted if you decide to join the club and become a member.  We meet for two hours on the first and third Monday of each month starting at 7.30pm promptly (please arrive before 7.15pm for registration) at the Conservative Club, 316 King's Road, Reading, RG1 4HX.

We look forward to welcoming you to one of our meetings soon.

The Toastmasters Mission
A statement of shared values

Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:

We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater selfconfidence and personal growth.

Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.
