The Meeting
Please arrive at 7:00 pm for a 7:15 start. At 7:15, the Toastmaster will begin the meeting, introducing the agenda and different members who have taken up the various leadership support We will then have our prepared speeches followed by a network break to allow guests and members to mingle. Following the break, we have evaluations of the speeches which is an excellent opportunity to develop listening skills and for the speech makers, "feedback is the breakfast of champions". Following this is an impromptu table topics session which develops quick thinking, formulating a speech structure in a short amount of time, bringing our thoughts to the front of our mind when we need it and finally, an imaginative flair. We encourage everyone at a meeting to take on a role during the evening so that we can all work towards members achieving the Toastmasters Internationally recognised qualifications in leadership and speaking.
Car Parking and Transport
The Wild Boar pub is close to Warwick Train Station and near the hospital and just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Parking is limited with some on street parking, so please leave plenty of time to find a car prking place. There are neighbours who rent out their drive for just a few £s so worth a look into!
Nervous?: Get a Mentor!
For those who are nervous about standing up and speaking, you can have a mentor to help you along your development journey. We have members who have been coming for many years and also many new members, each of whom have gained skills throughout their lives and are happy to pass on this knowledge. Please ask our Mentoring Manager for more information or if you would like to become a mentor/mentee.
We are an open community group so if you are interested, drop into our next meeting!
