The summer holidays are over and its back to normal for Toastmasters. We had a good turnout at meeting number 34 despite some members still being away on holiday, or for work.
Toastmaster Moira O'Brien introduced two icebreakers, from Debbie Walsh "A Secret" and from Margaret Lucey "Note to Self". both speeches were very well presented by both speakers, whom we are sure will go on to become assured Toastmasters. Debbie was evaluated by Matt Murphy and Margaret by Peter Neville.
Beryl Cronin introduced a lively Table topics session where all members were able to contribute to some interesting and challenging topics.
It was a welcome return for Ted Mellamphy to the club after a long break, to take the role of General Evaluator. The remaining roles were taken by Tom O'Connor as Ah Counter, Christine Murphy stepping in at the last moment as Timer, Claire O'Leary being un-superfluous as Grammarian and Moira O'Brien deputising as Sergeant at Arms.
It was altogether a most enjoyable meeting and bodes well for the club to charter later on in the year - hopefully at the beginning of October.
