Meeting number 28 (meeting 27 seems to have disappeared into the imaginary ether as our previous meeting was no 26), when the word of the day was "Convoluted" as chaired by Toastmaster of the day Matt Murphy, taking this role for the first time. He introduced two speakers. Peter Neville gave his CC6 entitled "Twice the fun but three times the effort" - a saga about parenting twins, evaluated by Christine Murphy. Our Area 11 International Speech Contest winner Imelda Westcott, from Bandon Toastmasters, then gave her contest speech "Facing the Fear" which was well received and evaluated by Peter Neville. She is due to compete with this speech at the Division Finals on April 23rd.
The table topic session was conducted by Moira O'Brien, eliciting some interesting responses - the most popular being "Hard Brexit or Soft Brexit", "Lady Drivers" and "What is Home".
Kathleen O'Mahony, visiting from from Blarney Toastmasters, was our general evaluator assisted by Grammarian Nicola Hogan, again taking the role for the first time, Timer Tom O'Connor, Sergeant at Arms Peter Neville and, for the first time in this club, Ah Counter Mary Murphy.
Our next meeting is on April 18th at the Castle Hotel, Macroom at 8pm and you are welcome to join us.
