Despite being so close to the New Year and a number of members being sick or unable to attend, meeting number 21 was another positive and enjoyable meeting, hosted by visiting Toastmaster Mary Walsh (Blarney TM) who stepped in at the very last moment and did a great job in a club she had never visited before.
She introduced Moira O'Brien, our president, who stepped in to give a speech as the scheduled speaker was unable to attend. She gave the final speech from the Speaking to Inform manual, the Abstract Concept, entitled "Happiness is.....". The speech was expertly evaluated by Pat Duggan (Guardian TM). With this speech Moira achieved her Advanced Communicator Bronze award.
Mary Murphy gave us an excellent Table Topics session (her first time in this club) with a variety of topics that every member had the opportunity of responding to.
Paul O'Mahony stepped up to give his very first General Evaluation ably assisted by Timer Claire O'Leary, Grammarian Moira O'Brien and Sergeant at Arms Peter Neville.
The next meeting on January 17th is a joint meeting with Blarney Toastmasters at Blarney Woolen Mills Hotel, an Induction Meeting for New Toastmaster to which all members are welcome.
