Meeting number 20 of Lee Valley Speakers was well attended with 8 members and two visiting Toastmasters. Ivan O'Sullivan DTM from Midleton Toastmasters took on the role of Toastmaster for the night introducing two speeches.
The first speech was an excellent Icebreaker entitled "The Switch" from returning Toastmaster (after many years) Matt Murphy, who introduced himself with some fascinating family history.
Visiting Toastmaster Pat Duggan from Guardian Toastmasters gave his CC7 speech (his second round from the CC manual) entitled "The Other Side of Toastmasters", informing his audience, of mainly new Toastmasters, about what happens in Toastmasters outside of the club environment.
Both speeches were evaluated by Moira O'Brien.
Pat Duggan took on the role of General Evaluator giving us some sound advice, double jobbing also as Grammarian. He was supported by first time Timer Nicola Hogan, and Table Topics Master, (also first time in this club), Christine Murphy, with Peter Neville returning after a recent absence as our Sergeant at Arms.
All in all another enjoyable meeting.
