Is there more than one Cheltenham Speakers Club?

Yes. And to make matters even more confusing we both meet on Tuesday evenings. The other group is part of the Association of Speakers Clubs while we are a member of Toastmasters International.

I have never spoken before/I’m afraid of speaking in public. Can I still join?

Of course! Cheltenham Speakers Club is here to help speakers of all stripes, from those who fear stepping on the stage to those who speak for a living.

Do I have to be a member to come to the meeting?

No. While you’re welcome to sign up straight away, we don’t mind you coming to two or three meetings while you work out if the club is right for you.

What should I bring to the meeting?

We recommend you bring a pen and a pad/something to lean on. While you don’t have to take notes, all audience members are allowed to give little bits of written feedback to each of the members who are giving prepared speeches. You can also vote for the best  speeches and evalutation.
