Looking forward

The weather was still unseasonably bitter as we gathered again, and we were admiarbly led by Brent Crouch takng on the role of Toastmaster for the first time.

Despite the weather we looked forward to spring in the warm up with indications of how we would spend the lighter evenings. gardening topped the list, with DIY, barbecues and sitting at the computer also featuring.

Keith Oliver gave teh first speech - returnign to his Icebreaker to tell how he came to support Portsmouth FC and how that decision had shaped his career which also mirrored the fortunes of the club.

Wendy Benson followed with a true story of how she met her partner at University with a speech entitled \\"When the earth stood still\\".

Following the network break we moved onto the evaluations, and Table Topics with Paul Winfield setting topics based on stories in the news,

Winners were Best Speaker - Wendy Benson, Best Evaluaor - Keith Oliver, Best Table Topics - Wendy Benson

After club business if fell to Brent to hand out the awards and the first of our ribbons.
