The weather wa a bit kinder, if still cold, but the atmosphere was warm in the meeting as Michael John set our theme as moments of great pleasure, a theme Wendy Benson picked up on by asking us to tell where we were going on holiday or would like to go to. We were instantly transported to Greece, Barcelona, Florida and Scotland amongst other places.
Our word for the evening set by Keith Oliver was segue (pronounced 'seg-way') meaning to flow seamlessly, and it was a word ably picked up by our three speakers, Paul Winfield arguing the need for more controls on TV advertising for on-line betting, Brent Crouch described his joy of fishing, while Allan Wadsworth gave his Icebreaker on how things didn't always turn out as planned.
After the break came the evaluations before Zoe led the Table Topics, using a trip to see the Cutty Sark to set an eclectic set of topics from London,to tea, to holidays amongst others.
Michael John gave out the awards and made mention of the article in that evening's News and the need to build on our membership. Best Speaker - Allan Wadsworth,Best Evaluator - Wendy Benson, Best Topics - Adrian Reed
