As Britainwas lashed by heavy rain, winds and flooding the south coast was largely spared as we held our latest meeting. The Toastmaster for the evening, Keith Oliver, reminded us that it was the anniverary of the Great Storm of 1703 when over 8000 people died and 13 naval ships wth their crews were lost. The weather theme was carried on throughout the evening.
Despite a lower number attending another great night was had, with excellent speeches from Michael John Smithson who 'roasted' his son Tim, following an Icebreaker from Tim himself and finally a Number 7 speech from Ann Carver.
Brent Crouch got us off with the warm up while Michelle Sullivan set some weather related Table Topics.
