We are a friendly, supportive and welcoming club located in the centre of Ludlow. We meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month at The Ludlow Mascall Centre (LMC) Lower Galdeford, Ludlow SY8 1RZ at 7.15pm. If you want to improve your speaking and leadership skills whilst gaining self-confidence then this is the club for you....
Some of our friendly members.
Everyone is welcome at any of our meetings. There is no need to book, you can come and see a club meeting for yourself. As a guest, you have free admittance and you can participate in some of the meeting if you wish, but if you just want to sit and watch what goes on that's absolutely fine too.
What to expect
You'll see members practising their speaking and listening skills, delivering short speeches (5-7 minutes typically) from the Toastmasters International education programme. Each speech is evaluated by another member who provides useful and supportive feedback with commendations and one or two recommendations to help the speaker improve. We also have an impromptu speaking session where members (and guests if they want to participate) try to speak for 1-2 minutes on a subject given to them on the spot. It's great fun and yields some very interesting stories, both real and invented.
Members also take on roles during the meeting, for instance, to keep time, facilitate the meeting, pick up good vocabulary and watch out for crutch words.
Everything is conducted in good humour and in a friendly manner as learning and practising needs to be fun!
We never cancel a meeting, (unless it's Christmas Eve/Day or Boxing day!)
We look forward to meeting you!
