Do you fear public speaking? Do you want to build self-confidence? Would you like to improve your ability to persuade, motivate and inspire?
Barings' corporate Toastmasters Club is now running fortnightly Thursday lunchtime sessions - lunch included!
Toastmasters provides an opportunity to practice your public speaking and leadership skills in a relaxed, fun environment. Initially, members complete the Competent Communication manual, a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instil a basic foundation in public speaking. Members can also complete the Competent Leadership manual, which is designed to build confidence in leading a meeting, giving constructive feedback and improving organizational skills.
The club is a great opportunity to prepare for meetings and presentations in a supportive environment, and to meet colleagues from all areas of the business. In particular, the club gives members the opportunity to practice their public speaking and communication skills and focus on their use of gestures, eye contact, speech organisation and overall delivery.
Come along to our next session. Food is served from 12pm. The session will begin promptly at 12.30pm for 1 hour.
