As District 71, our shared goal is to finish as a distinguished district. Resulting in recognition as the Hall of Fame at the International Convention in Denver, August 2019. One team, one dream. Let us work together and achieve this. Club Officers, I’d love to attend at least one of your committee meetings each quarter and learn your plans and strategies. Members, let us know how we can support your journey. Have a vision for your development this year and share it, the club/community will hold you accountable.

Do get in touch with any questions or suggestions.

Many thanks,

Shyamenda

Welcome

Fellow Toastmasters,

My name is Danny and I will have the honour of being your Area Director for the 2017/2018 Toastmaster year. For those of you who have met me, you know I am less serious than I sound in this email, so please relax.

I may have already contacted you on Watsapp, but since not everyone uses it, I'm going omnichannel.

As part of your journey with Toastmasters, you may have taken a role of office with your club this year. Whether you are the new President, Secretary, or Treasurer, your role is integral to the success of your club. As such, I would like to invite each and every one of you to attend Club Officer Training on Sunday 16th Julyat Rise, on Deansgate in Manchester. There will be a 10:30 arrival time for registration to start at 11 am.

This will be a great chance to meet other Toastmasters from clubs in the local area and have a chance to lead or facilitate training sessions that will last longer than the usually prescribed 5-7 minutes. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about your role with others who have taken a similar path.

If you would like to attend then please speak with your VPE or President, or email me directly at dannyrileytm@gmail.com and let me know your name and club. There is a £6 charge for the training which will include refreshments and light lunch. This invite is open to all club members including those who do not currently hold an officer position.

If you would like to facilitate a session on the day of training, then please contact me at your earliest convenience and I will see if there is still room to slot you into the agenda.

I thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you at Rise on the 16th.

Danny Riley

Hello and Welcome to Toastmasters in North West England!

Area 48 covers North West England, and we currently have four chartered clubs (Advanced Orators, Didsbury Speakers, Manchester Orators and Warrington Toastmasters), along with a couple of up-and-coming pre-charter clubs.

Each club exists to help members develop their communications and leadership skills. Our members come from all sorts of backgrounds: at meetings, you'll find students, volunteers, career-focused individuals and business owners all following the same programme.

This year we hope to consolidate and grow on a personal and club level and as an Area while having fun and reaching our goals!

You can find out more about our events by clicking on the club names on the left. Also, you can like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@TMArea48).

Happy speaking!

Martin McManus

Area 48 Governor
2013-2014
