Welcome To Dundee Toastmasters
A branch of the international Toastmasters Public Speaking and Leadership organisation meets twice a month in Dundee city centre - and we'd love you to join us!
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at the Argyll Room in The Hampton by Hilton Hotel, 1 Argylgait, Dundee. The meetings are from 7.00 - 9.00pm but please arrive early as we always start on time. Whatever your goals in life may be, your success depends on your ability to communicate effectively. Individuals who can express their ideas so that they are heard, understood and acted upon, possess one of the primary qualities of leadership.
You are welcome to come along to any meeting as a guest so you can find out whether Toastmasters is right for you. There's no charge for attending as a guest, so you can find out what Toastmasters is all about for yourself before deciding whether to join Dundee Toastmasters and embark on a programme that will multiply your communication and leadership skills.
As a Toastmaster, you will learn how to:
- Overcome the initial nervousness everyone feels when called to speak before an audience.
- Organise and present your ideas logically and convincingly.
- Improve your ability to listen to other people's ideas and provide constructive feedback for them.
- Develop self-confidence that will radiate in every situation involving interaction with other people.
Our Club Members understand the challenges and fears many of us experience when speaking in public - whether it's to a hall of hundreds or just a few people meeting around a table. Everyone joins Toastmasters to become better and that means our members have a wealth of experience to offer new members just starting on their public speaking journey. Toastmasters is a not-for-profit organisation and provides the best value-for-money public speaking training available anywhere. Membership currently costs less than £160 a year (£13 a month), which is about the same as an average night school course.
If you are interested in finding out more we'd love to hear from you! Come along to any of our meetings as a guest, and find out for yourself what we do. This doesn't cost anything, and there is no pressure for you to speak unless you would like to. A foundational principle of Toastmasters is to provide a safe and supportive environment for people to learn communication skills, so we always make sure our guests feel comfortable while they're with us. If you have any questions please contact us for further details, or simply show up as a guest at the next meeting. it's completely free and without any obligation - our only aim is to help people who would like to improve their communication and leadership skills do that as effectively as possible.
Meetings have a friendly and supportive atmosphere, there's no dress code, and everyone aged 18 years or older is welcome. We are proud to have attracted a highly-diverse membership over the years including all ages, races, and genders. Please help us make that even more diverse by coming along and joining us! We hope to see you very soon! |
