The Toastmasters Mission A statement of shared values
Every Toastmasters club shares the same mission, clearly defined in the following mission statement:
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater selfconfidence and personal growth.
Through this mission, each Toastmaster gains a clear understanding of the club's purpose, and the organization as a whole benefits from a shared set of values and goals.

About Our Club |
Carlow Toastmasters
Meetings are held in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Kilkenny Rd., Carlow, on the first and third Wednesday of each month from September until May, 8pm until 10:30pm.
Please feel free to come along on any of our meeting nights to observe or participate, have a cup of tea and a chat with our members.
If you have any further queries or wish to contact us for any reason, please feel free to message us on Carlow Toastmasters Facebook page.
Meeting Format
Meetings start with a brief introduction from each member carrying out a role, explaining what is involved in that role and the reason for it. This leads into the table topics session, which lasts for 45 minutes. After a short break a few members will deliver prepared speeches and an assigned member will give an evaluation on the speech.
Table Topics
The table topics master delivers a random topic to the group. If a member has something to say on the topic they can choose to deliver a short, unprepared speech on that topic, this is to encourage thinking on your feet. New members or guests only participate if they choose to do so. The table topics session is always fun and entertaining.
Prepared Speeches
The second half of the meeting gives members a chance to work through their Toastmaster communication manuals, by way of prepared speeches. Manuals are designed to lead toastmasters from a introductary 'ice breaker' speech to more advanced speeches. All speeches are followed by a three minute evaluation. Evaluations are supportive, outlining the good points of the speech and recommendations for further improvements.
