Cheltenham Speakers Club

Welcome to the website for Cheltenham Speakers Club. Part of Toastmasters International, we are a local group of like-minded, friendly people who want to improve our public speaking and help others improve theirs.

We meet at the Exmouth Arms, Bath Road, Leckhampton, Cheltenham, on the 1st, 3rd Tuesday of every month - 7.15 pm (an informal chat) to start at 7.30 and finish before 10.00. We normally stay after for a social, too.

Our club provides a safe space for you to practice expressing yourself and finding ideas in front of the most supportive group of people who've "all been there". No matter what your skill level, you can always improve. Complete beginners are more than welcome! You are welcome to attend one meeting before deciding if you'd like to join.

Visiting toastmasters are welcome, but please sign up for the meeting.

For more information about how the club works use the 'Guest information' menu above. And to see the agenda for the next meeting, click here.

Club News

We came, we saw, we concurred - it was a GREAT outdoor club night in the Cirencester Amphitheatre!!

What a cracking venue for speaking - a space designed for great oration, games, and the occasional sacrifice.

James gave us a speaking game that started in the oolite period when the amphitheatre bathed in a warm sea, with dinosaurs dipping in and out (give or take a few million years).

And Richard gave us a Roman twist in our table topics.

Neil then ran a workshop that had speakers speaking in small groups, with the listeners challenged to seek more of what they wanted to hear, and less of what they didn't.

Plus we started with a BYO picnic; the air was warm; and we left when it was almost dark.

See you there next year!!!
